Can you believe ant colonies can nest inside of window screen frames! I couldn't believe my eyes when I removed a screen and they came swarming out!
They enter the frame from a notch in the top of the frame where a wire spring is located. The spring pushes the window screen down on the window sill. This leaves a space at the top of the frame large enough for the ants to enter and exit.
I am finding these ant colonies more frequently. One project, all four second story windows on the east side of the home had live ant colonies in their solar screen. The homeowner said, "So, that's were they are coming from"!
If you are having ant problems. I have window screens that will eliminate access!
